I nibble the grass


I nibbled the grass at the side of the road
Watching my friends the unwritten code
But I got a fright and decided to flee
Now there is something coming for me
Bright light in the dark blinding my mind
Oh how I wish there was cover to find
The ground is all flat there’s no cover I know
This could be the end as there’s no place to go
I try to avoid it but it fills all the night
So I close my eyes and block out the light
A rush of the air as it passes over my head
There is a feeling that I may now be dead
Feeling my mind as I open my eye
The brightness has gone I started to cry
I pray to the night with all I can give
Tonight is a night that I am to live
This isn’t the place where the story will end
As I turn to go home there lies my friend
