Consider the sun
Consider the moon
One eclipses midnight
One embodies noon
They give us life
They give us love
They shine on us
From high above
Each of them
Is present and past
Eternity
Is what they’ll last
They brighten up the darkest day
And fill the empty night
No one living can explain
The need for celestial light
We follow them
With religious grace
And let the moon
Shine on our face
We hold them special
In our heart
During our worship
They’re a part
We pray for them
To the light the way
Within our rituals
Hear what we say
We hold them in
Such high esteem
The ray of light
The cool moon beam
We pray for clear and cloudless sky’s
To honour our processions
So we can bathe within there light
During religious sessions
We look at them with mystery
With little understanding
Yet within our empty prayers
We are quite demanding
In our prayers and in our dreams
Of them there’s much we ask
We need them there to light our way
And they complete the task
